As I mentioned in my last entry, magical spells are the formulaic methods used to spell our desires out to the universe. The basis of the formula for any spell known to mankind is rather simple; it is an equation of similarities and sometimes singularities.
The aspect of similarities in regards to spell construction states that each item used within a spell is believe to have a certain quality within itself, and when items are of a similar quality, it is therefore believe that their combination can cause change.
The singular aspect of spell craft is like the first; however it asserts the notion that each item on its own, such as a stone or herb, contains power, and therefore could be used alone to cause changes appropriate to the nature of the item.
Both assertions are correct, however as I will state time and time again in my writings each of these views are missing the most essential component; that is the power of will.
No matter what reputedly powerful spell us as would be practitioners of the magical arts come across, the spell simply will not work, if there is not the appropriate application of the will.
Even in cases where the will is properly harnessed, there is still the question of whether the will is strong enough to cause the desired change. After years of study within the various traditions of magick and spirituality, I have discovered a few ways to ensure that the will has been properly directed into the working of spells.
Visualisation
It's difficult to state exactly when this epiphany arose for me, but during my time trying everything from the most famous spells, to the affirmations presented in various literary works pertaining to the law of attraction, I discovered that my workings of magick would always and with no exception fail, if I could not picture what I was asking for.
This ranged from finding a parking space to catching a bus on time. It also pertained to more ceremonial workings of magick. If I was unable to picture in my mind exactly what I was asking for, I simply would not get it.

Our minds are actually visual mechanisms, sort of like our computer monitors where we enter the commands for certain things to take place in our worlds; it is for this very reason that people who do not consider themselves to be visually oriented have a harder time performing magick.
Our inner spirits, and possibly the universe have no understanding our written or spoken words; words are the devices designed to provide insight into the thoughts of the mind, and should not be mistaken for the thoughts themselves.

So if you find that it is hard for you to see with your mind's eye what it is you are wishing to achieve, the rectification of this will help you move towards many successful experiences in the magical world, and you truly will have a charmed life.
